What does it truly take to preserve Oregon’s history?
Kerry Tymchuk, the Executive Director of the Oregon Historical Society, will take us behind the scenes of one of Oregon’s most important cultural institutions. Learn how OHS was founded, how it continues to safeguard our shared past, and how the Multnomah County Museum Levy Fund helps support museums and historical organizations across the county.
Born in Reedsport and a graduate of Willamette University and Willamette University College of Law, Kerry has built a distinguished career in public service. He has served as a Marion County Deputy District Attorney, Director of Speechwriting to U.S. Secretary of Labor Elizabeth Dole, Director of Speechwriting and Legal Counsel to U.S. Senator Bob Dole, and Oregon Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Gordon Smith. He has co-authored four books and helped write autobiographies for notable Oregon business leaders including Gert Boyle, Harry Merlo, Al Reser, and Ken Austin.
Oh — and he’s also a four-time Jeopardy! champion.
The afternoon concludes with a fun and engaging Oregon history trivia session with Kerry. Come test your knowledge, learn something new, and enjoy a lively conversation about the stories that shaped our state.
Whether you are a lifelong history enthusiast or simply curious about Oregon’s past, this is a program you will not want to miss.
Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend and join us for an afternoon of history, insight, and fun.
